The Atonement of Jesus Christ: Can We Really Understand?
video by Donald W Parry
2009 BYU Education Week
This is one of the best descriptions of the Atonement of Jesus Christ I’ve ever heard. If any Christian is not in love with the old testament, they will be by the time they finish watching this lecture.
Donald Parry is a professor of Biblical Hebrew at BYU. He formerly taught in the ancient scripture department before demand became too high in the Hebrew department, where he now teaches full time. He is the author of some 30 books, and has worked with the Brethren to share his academic understanding of Isaiah, book of Revelation, and other core gospel subjects.
Some topics of this lecture include analysis of the laying on of hands in old testament sacrifice, the symbol of the cup, the symbol of the blood of old testament animal sacrifice, the symbol of the lamb, and more.
