-“The solution of the great world problems is here in the Church of Jesus Christ. Ample provision is made not only for the needs of individuals, but also for the nation and groups of nations” (Elder Perry of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, In The World, April 1988, General Conference. see https://www.lds.org/general-conference/1988/04/in-the-world?lang=eng).

-The LDS Church is politically neutral, yet they encourage members of the Church to be politically involved in a way that coincides with their religious values. (http://www.mormonnewsroom.org/official-statement/political-neutrality)

-see “The Majesty of God’s law: It’s Coming to America” by W. Clean Skousen which discusses biblical laws and parts of the original Constitution of the US that we are not enacting today, very telling scholarly work on American and biblical history.

-see latterdayconservative.com for audio downloads of prophets namely Ezra Taft Benson on politics etc.

Right to Attorney/Attorney Honesty:

A lawyer may be honest for he may refuse to lie to defend someone, at which point that person may fire them and find someone else. Similar to how Christ is the advocate for everyone and helps even the sinners to have help and equity, the lawyers may help the criminal to see to it that their rights are protected, that they have a court with a jury to hear their case, and that the court may decide on their case. All have those rights. A lawyer may tell his people that if they want them to cover up things and lie to win them a case they may as well part right then. Many, as I’ve spoken with lawyers, clients leave at this point.

Terrorism:

If there is anarchy and terrorists in another country, we go in there and kill them just like we would kill a bear that is coming to eat our livestock, for the terrorist is worse than an animal which acts out of instinct. when there is terrorists and the like we the USA should go in with full military force until there are signs of a stable government forming, and leave them then, like we did with Germany and Japan and now they are well and have government (not communist government). Iraq we pulled out of, but it was without sign of their stability, and now, like every other country we pull out of before they are stable, they are going to trash. Falling apart. It’s the same with Afghanistan. We are pulling out there and the same will occur. People in Afghanistan are making nuclear bombs and we are doing nothing to stop them, and may likely expect a nuclear bomb soon in a large metropolitan American city.

Socialized Healthcare:

The way around socialized healthcare is to not have so much regulations on the independent contractors that have their own insurance companies so they can not have to charge so much for insurance, like how they’re currently limited to not insure people in other states which makes their pool of customers smaller which causes their rates to go up. Also we can have laws and we do, to protect people from making monopolies. But I say lets not let the government force monopoly on us at their hand!

-Are we becoming socialist in America? If so, is that bad?

Obamacare is where people are forced to use a certain insurance policy or to pay a fine. My friend doesn’t want to choose Obamacare, and for 2015 she will be fined $3,000 because of this by the government.

Why doesn’t she want Obamacare in the first place? Aren’t there several providers within Obamacare? Because her friend used an Obamacare physician who told her that her child was not ill when in fact the child had an extremely contagious disease. The Obamacare doctor’s get paid for being on Obamacare, and hence their incentive to offer quality care vanishes. The Obamacare doctor spent about 20 minutes with the patient, telling them over and again that all was alright. The mother of the child continued to ask questions to the Dr., but he hurried her out the door.

The woman had a nurse friend, who saw the child and told her to call the hospital immediately to get him checked. As the mother was describing the symptoms to the receptionist at the hospital of her choice, which she had to pay extra to go to because it was not Obamacare, the Dr. there overheard the conversation and took the phone and told the mother to immediately bring the child in. The mother did so and the doctor rushed the child in past all the others in the waiting room and spent about 45 minutes doing a through head to toe check of the child and told the mother all the things she needed to do and to get the child out of school; the mother didn’t even have to ask him any questions.

These are the fruits of socialism. Welcome America!

No Child Left Behind Program:

This is a good idea, but has a tendency to dumb down the material and not push those that need pushing. The idea that everyone must succeed weather they like it or not rings a resemblance of Satan’s plan to me. I don’t have a solution but see there needs to be change here to indeed accommodate students, but not make it too easy to pass a class. We want America to have a prestigious education system. I’ve heard a child on the news speak of how their education used to compel them and allow them to expiress their ideas and be creative, but now they merely teach to tests, and go over the same material time and again, and it’s boring. Teaching to tests is also a tool that was used to get political agenda out to people when it began, but we have lost sight of that and don’t seem to care today.

Constitutional Procedure: Checks and Balances

Regardless of your political associations, republican democratic or none at all, there are precedes of checks and balances in the constitution that ensure we don’t give too much power to one person. That has been overridden lately, see BYU Devotional Forum for September Constitution week in 2014.

Constitution:

LDS Church Presidents clarify this document is inspired of God and the best form of government on earth.

Homosexual Marriage:

-Recently a minister was arrested for not marrying a gay couple (See Fox News for the article 2014). This is against the first amendment, the freedom of speech, the freedom to practice your religion. This is equivalent to forcing someone to sell pornographic magazines or tobacco even if such is against their religious and moral standards.

-Some say the gay rights movement is like the Civil Rights movement for African Americans. The Africans were being treated as less than humans, they were slaves. They could not own property. They could not ride busses like others. Segregated school and water fountains. None of that is happening in the USA to gay persons.

-See post on “The Miracle of Forgiveness” by Spencer W. Kimball, Ch.6.

Over-population

-President David O McKay 9th President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints said the problem is not over population but that everyone moves to the same place (*they are not willing to do hard work to till the land, not willing to not have some “luxuries”!). He said as he traveled over the world there are places people don’t live where fruit falls from the trees uneaten.

World Hunger

-Today 88% of the wealth of the world is owned by 12% of the population.

-Often the issue is shipping resources we have effectively to nations in need.

-Donate to a trusted organization like The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where 100% of donations go to the needy since the workers in that church work for free.

Legalizing Drugs:

-Legalizing the use of Marijuana in order to be able to tax it since it is occurring anyway in a black market is like saying lets legalize prostitution, incest, child pornograhpy, or rape, since it happens anyway, so we can make taxes off of it! Today we like to justify about anything. Let one thing slide then soon thereafter comes the next. As people’s character get weakened more and more by the use of these drugs, the focus will turn from not merely un-banning things, but towards taking away our freedoms, turning our nation more and more toward socialism, where people think they can get something for nothing so long as big daddy the government is over everything they do.

Economics:

-Free Market Economy & capitalism. America is the only country in the world that has it’s wealth not by conquest alone but by thrift and the free market system, by innovation, inventing products that people like to use, and having businesses competing against each other. See post on “The Majesty of God’s Law” by W. Cleon Skousen for constitutional backing and further discussion. See posts and works by Dinesh D’Souza.

Family:

Looking at history seeing how marriage was for political power, for getting foreign allies, for securing the royalty in your family line, for social status, etc, it’s easy to understand that the kingdoms of those leaders fell! They had no respect for God or his commandments. They used family for politics when they should have used politics for family!

The family is the central unit of any independent society.

Independence:

-Does anyone dare say that independence is a good thing? Self reliance? But what of all this government funding for education and many other things that seem good? We need to keep in mind the principal that we are created to act no to be acted upon. The more we have the government do for us, the less we will be able to do for ourselves.

-“The practice of coveting and receiving
unearned benefits has now become so fixed in our society that even men
of wealth, possessing the means to produce more wealth, are expecting
the government to guarantee them a profit. Elections often turn on what
the candidates promise to do for voters from government funds. This
practice, if universally accepted and implemented in any society, will make
slaves of its citizens. We cannot afford to become wards of the government, even if we have a legal right to do so. It requires too great a sacrifice of self-respect and in political, temporal, and spiritual independence…We should strive to become self- reliant and not depend on others for our existence.” (Marion G. Romney, Conf. Report Oct. 1982, The Celestial Nature of Self Reliance, https://www.lds.org/general-conference/1982/10/the-celestial-nature-of-self-reliance?lang=eng)

Guns:

When a country loses it’s right to bear arms, the government takes over and oppresses you.

War:

I hate bloodshed, but sometimes war is the better alternative. You need to go to war in order to establish peace sometimes. It’s better to go to war when such is needed than to sit around and say “peace, peace, when there is no peace” (Jeremiah 6:14, 8:11). The Book of Mormon has a plethora of examples where it was the righteous thing to do to go to war for the sake of peace.
